The short answer is no - there are opportunities for people with a wide range of abilities to participate in the Raid. If you want to row every inch of the way then obviously you need to be a reasonably fit and experienced rower. If you want to sail one of the smaller boats then you need to be fairly nimble. Applications from people wanting to row all the way or sail one of the LBT's smaller boats will be assessed on fitness and experience. The whale-boats (Monty and Swiftsure) sail most of the way but may row on some days when the winds are not favourable. They are good options for people not willing or able to row for 4-5 hours for days on end. We may be able to organise a day-berth on one of the accompanying yachts for people who want to be part of the Raid experience but are not able to participate on the small boat fleet. Contact us if you would like to discuss this option (info@tawe-nunnugah.org). |
