From Hobart to Conningham

Vessels will be able to leave from the Australian Wooden Boat Festival from about 3.30pm.  It is about 15 nautical miles to Conningham, there should be good light until 8.00pm, so it will be necessary to average a bit over 3 knots to get to Conningham in comfort. Low tide is at about 7pm, which should assist in getting down the Derwent Estuary, and should not be a hindrance in getting past Tinderbox to Conningham.  Of course there is no predicting the wind.

In adverse conditions it may be necessary for sailing and rowing boats to accept a tow, either by land or by sea.  Arrangements to do this will need to be made beforehand.
