Every two years since 2007 the Living Boat Trust in Franklin runs a fully catered ten day small boat expedition in the south of Tasmania timed to arrive at the start of the Australian Wooden Boat Festival in Hobart. We also run smaller scale four day 'Return Raid' from Hobart to Franklin after the festival.
To learn more read a brief introduction to the tn19 Raid and the Return Raid here. Download and print the tn19 poster here.
The expeditions are called tawe nunnugah, meaning ‘travelling’ by ‘canoe’ in the language of the Melukerdee people, the original owners of the region who for millennia traversed these waterways by bark canoe.

The Raids are organised entirely by volunteers, with funds raised used to support the LBT's on-going activities.
If you want to join the 2021 Raid, either in your own boat or on one of ours sign on to the mailing list here.
