From Graham Wright: Sea Knight prepared for removal on Thursday. Glynn and Angela preparing timber offcuts to make model boats for sale at the Swiftsure Regatta and Wooden Boat show. Peter Hill, Greg and Bret making progress in restoring 'Viking' to her former glory. That strange new member hogged the small thicknesser all day, had to use the large one! Rob found the electric bilge pump on Nancy wasn't working although there was water in the bilge. I checked it out and found one of the three heavy supply cables for the motor was lying on the float switch preventing it from operating. I thought I had secured them on Friday, anyway I used 4 heavy cable ties and redirected them well away from the lower part of the bilge. Between hail storms Rob and I tidied up the other wiring around that part of the bilge, moved the lower float switch slightly as it was touching a rib and removed some swarf and rubbish away from the pump. Finally I attached the plug/socket from the motor to controller data cable to a floor frame well out of the water as it has limited water proofing. Thursday will be interesting, getting Sea Knight out the door! |
