How will the new marine legislation the LBT?

MAST (Marine and Safety Tasmania) are still working through how to implement this legislation.  We have been in conversation with them.  One of the issues being explored is taking paying passengers in power boats.  We believe that our current license will cover most of our activities unless those activities change, but that we will have to be prepared for changes when that license expires.

Does the LBT Hire out boats?

The LBT does hire out boats for rowing to groups and for special events.  This needs to be pre-arranged.  Contact the secretary at sec@lbt.org.au. Unfortunately issues of insurance and safety preclude us from hiring them out on an individual basis.  There is a solution:  join up as a member and you may borrow boats for rowing on the provision of a maintenance contribution.
