First report from LBT/Huon team at the World St Ayles Skiffies.... Sunday July 24

Opening day row from Strangford to Delamont, in the beautiful new skiff - named 'The Feathers' - kindly loaned by The Black Neb rowing club.  This boat has round oars and they are lighter than ours, interesting foot rests.

It was a 2 hour row from Strangford around to Delamont. The girls rowed well and were able to relax a bit once they became more used to the oars, and the current. The narrows at Strangford has to be seen to believed!

A wonderful gathering at Delamont for the opening ceremony, cocktail party with finger food, plus a burger and sausage tent.

The Tasmanians have beèn welcomed warmly, Claire Tierney was interviewed by the local TV station reporters and the Team have been photographed by the local paper photographers.

The competition proper starts on Monday.
