The gaffers

The gaffers of course are the boats, not the sailors. As everybody knows, real boats, of which we have a unique collection, have gaffs and yards. Let’s get the Grebes and the Montagu whaler out on the river on MONDAY AFTERNOONS , starting OCTOBER 8TH 3.15PM. Those who want to can stay on for an LBT dinner after their appetite enhancing sail. We are hoping that members of all experience levels will come along. For those finding their feet the Montagu Whaler is an ideal boat to go out in with a seasoned crew. There is plenty of space, and she is very stable and safe - Monties were used as lifeboats.

Not convinced? John Young has more reasons why you should be involved - read them here (https://tinyurl.com/ydyk2w8v). And read the ponderings and prognostications of the Sailing Subcommittee here: https://tinyurl.com/y95x5hzl.
