'The proposed Wooden Boat Guild of Tasmania four steam boats on the Huon day is now less than 3 weeks away, the members of the Wooden Boat Guild and The Living Boat Trust are looking forward to the event ,the idea is for the four steam boats ,Nancy and any other interested boats ,dinghy’s, kayaks etc. to depart Franklin 9.30 -10 am and travel to Huonville for a lunch break and return in time to transit the canal or visit The Living Boat Trust or Franklin waterfront generally. Some non-powered boats may appreciate a tow particularly up stream as the flow and tide can be quite strong. Some non-boat owners may appreciate a ride on any boats with a place available. I have spoken to John Allport at Huon Jet Boats and he is happy for smaller boats to tie up at the limited available space on his pontoon ,Huon Jet Boats also operate a very nice Café adjacent to the pontoon There is also a public jetty for larger boats nearby .'
