From Jane Johnson:
'Western Australia is embracing the St Ayles Skiff movement
with the commencement of two skiff builds at the Royal Freshwater Bay Yacht
Club. During my visit last week I found
picture-perfect Swan River setting that will be wonderful for rowing
male group of “around 15” Yacht Club members enthusiastically getting
stuck into the building three times per week. Each kit had been cut out
and prepared for assembly, with the first skiff well on its way. The
building frame was in position, as well as the internal frame with hog,
stems and ribs prepared, the latter made out of mahogany.'
