Southern Sheds get together

If you have to be off the water then you might as well me alongside it, and there are few better places to be than the LBT lawn on a sunny, tranquil, Tasmanian autumn morning.  A group of seventy or so Tasmanian Men's Shed Association members put this proposition to the test last Friday, and we believe that there was unanimous agreement with it.

At 10.30 am sharp Mayor Peter Coad welcomed all the visitors, and after some minor speechifying they were sent off to sample some of what we have to offer.  Peter Heading took groups out in Nancy, the Wooden Boat Centre conducted tours, Graeme Rankin gave talks on building a community boat, there were demonstrations of the latest in wood working tools, and Ros Barnett organised 'refuelling' stops with cups of soup, coffee, tea and a barbeque lunch. With one or two minor glitches it all went swimmingly and we have made lots of new friends.

Thanks to Noel Condon from Cygnet Men's Shed for initiating this, and to members who helped out. The random selection of pics below illustrate some of the 'activities', which included doing not much at all!
