'There has been a suggestion that a rowing steering group would help communication between groups. If you are keen to have input for your group, meet down at the LBT@4pm Monday November 9. New ideas will cover these areas – figureheads for the skiffs (Freyja, a carved Nordic Goddess, Billie the Dog and an eagle for Imagine), events, maintenance, wood carving course etc. The proposed date for the Swiftsure Regatta including Roger Harwood/LBT windup is Sunday December 6. The Rowing Sub-Committee is aiming to have regular updates in the newsletter.

The second Botanical skiff tour departed from the pontoon jetty in perfect Huon Valley conditions. There were numerous plants and wildlife (including 5 types of birds) to be seen and samples were taken of flowers for identification which are now on display at the LBT. The white climbing Clematis was awash with flowers, as were the Coastal Heath and Teatree plants. There are different routes each week and the next tour is Sunday November 15 at 9.30 for those keen to learn more. See Dennis or Jane to reserve a seat 0400717140. The last tour will be a December tour onboard Nancy. '
