Remember these young men?

Some people may remember a group of young journeyman Dutch boatbuilders who came to Monday night dinner a year or so back, on the advice of their teacher Bert van Baar. They have just completed their final project boat back in Amsterdam. It was commissioned by the Monet museum.

Apparently Monet had an 'Amsterdam period'  during which he often took out a particular small boat sailing and daubing, and then also included it in some of his paintings. What the lads have done is build a replica - see pic below. Also worth looking at some of the other project boats pictured. The students have all done 2 years furniture building and it shows.
