'Great News! 

‘Bring a plate to share’ was a much-enjoyed tradition of Palais Movie nights before COVID. After seeking advice, we are now re-introducing this custom. We invite you to bring a plate to share this movie night. However, if you don’t yet feel comfortable eating from a shared plate, we suggest you join us with your own BYO nibbles and snacks. 

Doors open 6.30pm, bar open. 
Admission $5. 
Film starts after 7.15pm but before 7.30pm.' 


And the film? Departures - a best foreign language Academy Award Winner. 'Daigo is a young cellist in a Japanese city orchestra. His wife Mika works as a web designer. Times are hard for the orchestra and Daigo suggests to his colleagues that Mika could help establish a modern, online presence for the orchestra. Instead, the orchestra’s owner announces he’s disbanding it. Out of work and no longer able to support himself in the big city, Daigo and Mika move back to the provincial town he left years ago to pursue his musical dreams'
