Title: Navigation Hazard – Floating Debris;
Valid From: 14/1/2015;
Valid Until: 21/1/2015.
Mariners are advised that recent heavy rains have caused debris to be washed
into rivers and estuaries around the State. This debris, often partly
submerged logs, presents a navigation hazard to vessels.
Mariners are also advised that the heavy rainfall and run off from rivers into
coastal waters may cause barways and river mouth entries to change
substantially due to moving sand around the Tasmanian coast, particularly the
East and South East Coast.
Mariners are urged to take extreme caution whilst navigating seaward from
rivers across barways and in estuarine waters whilst these conditions exist.
