From Barbara Dawson:
"Poetry in motion” gasped many a camper as the LBT mixed fleet surged downriver en route to their picnic at Shipwrights Point. An early casualty was Endra and Annette’s Grebe, whose high tech state-of-the-art carbon fibre mast malfunctioned, and was forced to turn back to harbour, shepherded by Warren, director of Safety Services for the day.
The remaining rowing Grebe with Jo and Chris flew at a speed Grebes were not designed to go - unfortunately, exhausted by this early sprint, they were forced to make their own picnic stop some distance short of the line. However, the crews of Imagine, Will’s rowboat and 2 kayaks lunched on the grass at Shipwrights, with the weather’s predicted gloom and doom giving way to a following wind for the row/paddle back home."
