'New Tasmanians who were previously refugees or asylum seekers will visit the LBT on Sunday 23rd April from 10:30am.  We would love extra people so there can be more boats out with people, as well as just joining in the fun.

In 2015, more than 40 people had a really enjoyable time at the LBT. There was great fun on the water as Tess and Jane J. took 5 crews of keen new rowers in Imagine, and the Nancy did 4 short trips with Martin and Deb. The group paid to go on the boats and brought their own picnic lunch which Zainab helped to set out. The group finished the afternoon with picking and sampling a few apples at Richard and Lorna Clauson’s orchard in Castle Forbes Bay.

This year a mix of people from Afghani, African and other backgrounds have been invited. This is a great opportunity for them to see and experience the countryside, meet new people and try new activities, as well practice driving and speaking English.'
