Brian Marriot, with help from Graham Wright, has patiently been plugging away at the problems we have been having with 'Nancy'. It turns out that 'plugging' is the correct verb to use, as the source these problems has been revealed to be the 35 pin plug, specially and deviously designed by Bastards Inc, via which the electronics are connected to the controller. Brian is now confident that he has this bit of feral, plastic trash under control and that we can start to think about how we should actually run Nancy. To this end he has produced the graph below, showing that in her current configuration Nancy is good for about 4 knots, after which each gain is speed is offset by a dramatic increase in the power (and hence drain on the batteries) required to achieve that speed.Nancy is off to Hobart for the Festival on Tuesday. At 4 knots that's about 12 hours.
