Montagu Whaler 'taking up'

The Montagu Whaler went in the water on the high tide on Saturday morning, which happened to be at 4.30 am.  Not a popular hour for some, but she slid in most gracefully, and was left, in the time honored tradition of wooden boats, for the wood to 'take up' moisture in the shallow waters of the creek.  The water that was pouring in has slowed to a trickle, so we are hopeful that the leaks are slowly closing up.  In the meantime Peter Laidlaw and Johnno are periodically pumping her out.
