For some time we have been hoping for a visit from Martin, and Monday was finally the day. If what he had been waiting for was a real blast of Tassie winter he could not have been disappointed. For those of you who have missed the news in this column, Martin has restored a nearly century old Derwent fantail ferry called the Nancy in his shed on the Sunshine Coast - read all about it here and here. He has been looking for a Tasmanian home for her, and thinks that the LBT might be the right place. We agree! Besides being an ornament to the river she would be a very useful boat for all sorts of activities.  This is an exceptionally generous offer on Martin's part and we thank him for it.

Aside from all that Martin proved to be very good company and we welcome him to the LBT community. He is pictured below showing Graham Rankin and Liz Smith his photo log of the restoration.
