La Chaloupe

From Barb Dawson and David Budd:

'No, this [picture] isn't a remake of Mutiny on the Bounty.

A group of WOW women travelled south to Dover today for the launch of La Chaloupe, the boat lovingly restored by the Dover Community Workshop.  Note French tricolour colours of the hull - tres jolie!!  Many of you LBTers will undoubtedly realise that the signal flags at the bow spell out 'La Chaloupe'.

After speeches from Ron and the sponsors (Huon Aquaculture), the WOW women expertly put the boat through its sea trials.   At one stage, they towed a waterskiier organised for the event, but sadly missed capturing this on camera.

After consulting my very thick French dictionary, I can confirm that La Chaloupe does mean 'rowboat'.

Morning very nicely rounded off by superb lunch back at the Dover Shed (must be the tidiest and cleanest shed in Tasmania!).'
