Graeme Norris keeps us up to date with goings on on the North Coast, and he reports that the 'Julie Burgess' will stay in Devonport. From the Advocate:

'The council voted seven to one at Monday's meeting to hand over the ship's operation to the Julie Burgess Working Committee and negotiate an agreement for the transfer of the vessel on the basis the council provides financial assistance of $50,000 for the first year, and $40,000 pa after that for five years.

The council will also build a concrete slab suitable for a shipping container in Reg Hope Park with power to the site to provide a base for the not-for-profit operator and grant a licence for the Committee to use the pontoon for an initial five-year period.'

Here is hoping it works out.  The Julie Burgess is a classic boat.
