LBT member Steve Cameron brought a model of his 'Hexahut' to dinner last night - see pic below.  From the project website:

'HexaHuts are a comfortable and affordable yet very simple housing solution. This is a public-good project, as a Hexayurt variant, this project will extend the Hexayurt family of open source shelter designs. The HexaHut takes the key idea of the Hexayurt - very effective use of off-the-shelf building panels - adds unique design and manufacturing to give an appealing prefabricated hut. The HexaHut Project will take this unique housing concept to prototype and then to production stages.'

Steve explained that the key component of the hut is the standard plywood sheet - all the dimensions are based around that.

There is a crowd-funding site for those who are interested in participating: https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/the-hexahut-project#/
