Brett Doubleday, Steve McCusker and others have been working away getting Gretchen's hull stabilised and prepared in readiness for making it watertight. Graham Wright reports: 'the more
observant
visitor will notice that Gretchen is back in the shed. A simple
job
really, just lifting a ton of boat onto a trailer half the
size
needed for the purpose and getting it through the narrow doorway
into
the back of the workshop. But just to make things interesting
Brett
asked if we could turn it upside down and again many hands make
light
work and with some rope, a ladder, a block and tackle and advice
from
Martin over she went in the right place with no damage. Another
example of ingenuity and brute strength overcoming a problem. A
big
thank you for all the members who came to assist.' Martin Kell has made a living with ropes (on mountainsides), and is a very handy man to have around for this sort of operation. |
