Foreshore Plan and the LBT

Reader's of this column will be aware of the ongoing discussion about how to spend the $750k allocated by the state government to improving the Franklin foreshore (see for instance https://ishr.site/AiVP).  The engineers have been at work, the mayor has inspected, the council has met and as previously reported (https://ishr.site/qv4y) plans are being finalised.  As far as the LBT is concerned the parts of this plan likely to have immediate impact are:
  • a landing which will be used for tying up our pontoon;
  • a public toilet to be built on our license land, downstream from the Shed;
  • a path for walkers proceeding along the wall on our upstream boundary.
These are highlighted in the graphic below.

The LBT committee will be discussing this and forming a view to share with both LBT members and the council.  In the meantime  if LBT members wish to have a say or have a query they should speak to committee members, or email sec@lbt.org.au.
