Glynn Shevels (commander: Volunteer Marine Rescue Kingborough) writes:

'The visit by MAST and Franklin fire service to LBT on the evening of 20/7/2015 was a great success.  About 30 people attended.  A talk about safety on the water, life jackets , flares and the role  of MAST  was very informative with lots of questions about life jackets, how they perform, servicing them and correct fitting.  A very informative display of safety gear from Franklin Marine was well received by all who attended.  A question was asked about life jackets and small row boats/sail boats and the answer was they are now compulsory and must be worn at all times on the water.  After the talk in the shed we all ventured outside, thank goodness we had a large bonfire to keep people warm!  Outside was a hive of activities with flares being lit, and different types of fire extinguisher being used to put out fires.
The BBQ was a great success as well as the huge bonfire.  A thank you to
  • MAST
  • Franklin Marine
  • Franklin Fire Service
  • Tony Cooper for the BBQ'

And thank you too Glynn for organising this.
