The weather was perfect, the crowds enormous and our Festival site was humming.  A big thank you to all the volunteers who gave their time to help out, whether it was a few hours or the whole four days.  Thanks to the Women on Water for keeping us company (and sharing the site costs!) and the Franklin History Group as well. With the Wooden Boat School right next door, the fair village of Franklin was well represented.  We had a lot of interest in what we do and our mail box was bursting with expressions of interest by Monday, we must be doing something good down here.  As far as fund raising went , we made over $4,800.00 (gross) before expenses.
A couple of people deserve special mention:
  • Tony Cooper for trailing the Bendigo skiff to and from the Festival as well as several mercy trips;
  • Dennis Muscovich for getting the display back to Franklin;
  • a Gold Star has to go to Angela, our hard working Tuesday volunteer who has been beavering away over the last few months making the model boats, which went like hot cakes and were a big hit with the kids (and the grandparents): Angela's efforts boosted our funds by $801.00.
