Dick's Flagpole

The flagpole subcommittee (Southern Division, Franklin Chapter, chaired by David Nash) convened on Monday night, and recommended that a position in line with and close to the end of the verandah would be a suitable site for flying flags:

  • the verandah post can be used for extra bracing;
  • it will draw attention to the shed from the road, whilst being visible from the river;
  • the nearby shelter may be useful when raising the colours in the rain.

Any reactions to this recommendation should be mailed to sec@lbt.org.au

Correspondence from Ray Watson:

'Peter was interested in some ideas for a flagpole support. A few pics attached. Cost estimates ~$20 for rustproofing paint, ~$15 for coach screws, ~$20 for steel if we have to purchase it.'

See pics below.  Meeting ended.
