On May 27th the council resolved the following.

  1. The Report on the Community Engagement Summary Report on the Draft Franklin Foreshore Rehabilitation and Development Plan be received and noted.
  2. The Draft Revised Franklin Foreshore Rehabilitation and Development Plan Attachment C is adopted for implementation subject to a Deed of Variation from the Grant Funding Body.
  3. Subject to final approval from the funding body Council undertakes further engagement with the key stakeholders on the final designs and implementation of the Public Toilet, landscaping, and interpretive history signage.
The minutes with further details and discussion about this item are attached: https://tinyurl.com/yavy2uac.  These minutes refer to attachments, which are available at https://drive.google.com/file/d/13dDxVQAmfrOVc2KIgOoF9c3MlHhM_GeM/view?usp=sharing

The pic below (larger version at https://tinyurl.com/y8obgrcu) shows that the council have responded to the major concerns raised by the LBT:
  • the public toilet is no longer located on the land for which we hold the license downstream of the Shed;
  • the public footpath has been moved to the WBC side of the wall on our upstream boundary.
They failed to bite on our suggestion that they upgrade the right of way for the marina beside the Shed, but importantly support for deploying a pontoon near the evaporators is still included.  Thank you council!
