Correspondents' Report

Your travelling correspondents have just visited friends (and members) of the LBT Martin and Judy Krynen in Noosa.  We could tell that they are sad about forgoing the 'pleasures' of a bracing Huon winter, but, being good hosts, hid their disappointment by donning their cottons and showing us around.  They have been downsizing the Krynen fleet (just sold a boat), but in a shed across the river they still have their steam launch 'Lady Lavinia'.  Martin told us that he cultivated an interest in steam, thinking that if his business ever went belly up at least fuel would be cheap (or free) and that he could potter around servicing diesels, electricals and the like. Fortunately it hasn't come to that,  and 'Lady Lavinia' just gets craned off her trailer and into the water for pleasure trips around the lakes.  Of interest is that Martin tried to source a vintage motor for her, but ended up buying a new one.  They are still manufactured in South Australia.
