Liz from the Palais writes:

'This months movie is running in conjunction with the Huon Valley LGBTI Film Festival (see http://bit.ly/2mwWnSM), and is the 2015 academy award winning (nominated for 6) Carol, starring Cate Blanchett, Directed by Todd Haynes.  Takes place in 1950's New York, where a young aspiring photographer falls into an intimate relationship with an older woman whose marriage has been in trouble for some time. Described as a beautiful character driven slow burn.......in a gorgeous but gritty portrayal of the 1950's. You know the drill by heart now. Bring along anything that is warm blooded and pack a handkerchief to wipe the tears from your eyes through this dramatic masterpiece. Sunday 5th march upstairs at the Franklin Palais.  Doors open 6.30pm, film starts when someone flicks the lights. After 7.15pm but before 7.30pm. Yes, simple but it still works a treat.  This movie is free, but gold coin donations are welcome, bar will be running with reasonably priced quality refreshments to assist with digesting this high quality offering, the usual red/white/beer/cider/tea/coffee/milky milo. Please bring a plate ( with something on it ) to share for supper during the intermission. Hope you can make it.

NB Deb's taking a break, but will be back next month!'
