The LBT sent a team and a half to the Skiff and Whaleboat Regatta at Warrnambool this weekend, which meant that the women ended up competing in both their own and the mixed events. That meant at least 12 one kilometre sprints each over Saturday and Sunday, several of them end to end, and much of it into winds gusting to 30 knots. Pic one below shows them looking a little apprehensively at the whaleboat oars (the length, the size of those blades), pic two shows that by the afternoon their fears had been realised. But they did it. The males in the half team were in awe. Another great regatta organised by our friends at Warrnambool. We plan to be back. |
