Lorrie Harrison writes: 'From the West to the East coast across Australian crews in St Ayles skiffs have been rowing the 'Australian 5' this past weekend. Named because 5 crew members cover 5km. It has been the first dispersed event to be held in Australia for skiff rowing, one where we can all participate but we don't need to be together. Three crews from the LBT have joined in the fun: Castle Forbes Bay, Making Waves and the Five Mile Crew. All three crews could be seen out training during these past few months and all three crews pulled those oars as hard as they could for 5km, totally exhausted at the finish line. Thanks to the supporters who came down to cheer them on by the LBT or along the bank of the Huon. It will be on again next year, so join in.' See results attached (https://tinyurl.com/eppym76r), which show that the Castle Forbes Bay women's team were the fastest overall, with the Living Boat Trust teams performing very creditably. Congratulations to all. Pics below from Karl Galliene. |
