The best pleasures are often the unexpected ones. Local musician Sandy Pollard has recorded a fantastic version of 'The Lament of the Montagu Whaler' for us (more of which anon) and in hunting down the copyright for the song we made the acquaintance of the author, Commander Bernie Bruen, RN. Bernie is an old sea dog of the first water, and a published author, poet and musician to boot. He sent us some of his boat photos, see below, and a collection of his songs is in the mail. If your computer is working correctly and your speakers are on, by clicking on the sound gadget immediately below you should be able to listen to his version of the 'Lament'. He made it for us a couple of days ago.
