An Important Message from the LBT Committee

One of the things members love about our organization are the varied activities we offer our members.

Whether it's a convivial chat over a great meal at a Monday night dinner, a row or a sail on our wonderful river or honing our skills in the workshop with like minded people.
We are lots of things to a lot of people.

At the heart of it all, we are a grass roots community group, a not for profit organization, whose aims, among other things are to maintain and celebrate our maritime heritage, pass on skills, and to provide a supportive environment for our members, where they feel welcomed.

In recent times concerns have been expressed to the committee regarding some members using the shed facilities to conduct personal business transactions.
As a not for profit organization it is important that we ensure no activity takes place in the shed or crown lease area which makes other members feel uncomfortable, or which could adversely affect our reputation in the community or bring the organization into disrepute.

The committee would like to remind members that the shed and crown lease area around the shed are not to be used for private, profit making ventures of any kind. The exception, obviously would be when we hold a boot and boat sale expressly as a fund raising activity for the LBT.

Members are always welcome to put up a private for sale notice on the shed notice boards.

If any members have concerns about activities taking place around the LBT with which they don't feel comfortable, they are encouraged to speak with a member of the committee.
