It was recently reported in this column that Deb van Velsen had organised for a defibrillator (AED) to be located at the LBT.

Deb writes:

'The LBT was successful in getting a grant from the Huon Valley Council for a protective carry case for the AED, when the LBT or other groups take it away for trips or events.

The first session on the using AED was with the Tuesday Group who asked great questions.

Online training including 2 short videos is at:
The  information card below has been added to the AED bag, along with a pencil.
If the AED is used, please follow the instructions on the card, answer the questions and pass the card to the paramedic.

This AED can be borrowed by other Huon groups, so it may not always be in the shed. So the Tuesday Group has put up a sign by the front door with directions to the nearest AED at Franklin Marine. This is only 120m away and is available 24/7.'
