On Thursday the LBT was privileged to host Chris Abel and his Barbershop Choir from the Sunshine Coast.  They are in Tasmania for a singers gathering.  Chris is the great-grandson of Tucker Abel who built the Nancy, and this was a long awaited, and emotional, opportunity to see the boat.  We were able to give him two for one, as Dave Conway brought Eva Blanche, another Tucker Abel boat, up to the pontoon.  That's Chris in the orange rainjacket in the pics below.  The choir gave us a couple of tunes, and then we we were off for a cruise in company around the Egg Islands and back through the canal.  We topped off the morning in the Shed with cups of tea, slices of Tess Hallinan's cake, and conversation with the restorer of Nancy, Martin Krynen - see final pic.  Who'd be anywhere but Franklin?
