Graham Wright writes:
'Peter Hill has been on a roll the last couple of weeks as it was he who
suggested navy blue on the gunwale and bump strip and a white stripe
between for the Montagu Whaler
The result is brilliant and a good compromise with the traditional
Atlantic Gray, just look at the photos. In my time this is first joint
project with the LBT and WBC and many friendships have been made and
Monty is the result.'

The team are hard at work (well, you can tell from the picture) getting the last coats of paint on, and 'Monty' will have an unofficial launch in the next fortnight to give time for the timbers to take up and be ready for the Raid. As far as the colour scheme is concerned, plan is to go with traditional grey, but with white and blue highlights around the rubbing strip and gunnel. Pics from Graham Wright

Work on the outside of the hull is largely complete and 'Monty' has been turned over. Now for the interior. |

The old centre plate had almost rusted away, but this new one, fashioned from steel donated by Apco Engineering, should do the job nicely. |

After weeks of patching and filling and sanding by the team lead by
Johnno, an exciting day yesterday: first outside undercoat went on.
There is still debate about what colour it should end up: one school
says stick to some variation of traditional battleship grey.
