From Graham Rankin: 'Pete
may be sunning himself in Queensland, but he has left us some homework
to carry on with. This week saw the outer stems laminated from thin
strips of celery top, the strakes given a fine sand and the
rudder blade faired. Work continued on the oars, it will be a shame to
get such works of art wet! The extra piece for the keel was also marked
and cut. Next week will see a fact finding trip (espionage) to
Cygnet to check out their new oar locks, as this is the system we are
going with, the word from Laura is that it works really well. All in all everyone is pretty pleased with progress so far.' |
