'Today our faithful crew (or is that faithful few) scraped and planed the outer wales and prepared the spacers which form part of the inner wales, ready for glueing up. Gerry was hard at work preparing the leather for the oars, and work has started on forming up the breasthooks. This Thursday, the first of our extra work days, will see the skiff turned back over to finish the sanding.'
